Zimbabwe’s premier beach playground, beautiful Lake Kariba is a man-made lake that straddles the border between Zimbabwe and neighbouring Zambia.

A haven for water sports, fishing, and good old-fashioned relaxation, Lake Kariba is a perfect complement to the safari experience.

One of the largest man-made lakes in the world, Lake Kariba straddles the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe and boasts a shoreline that is more than 2,000 kilometres in length. It is also the largest man-made reservoir by volume in the world.

Created in the 1950s in order to established a hydro-electric plant, Lake Kariba is today a popular tourist attraction due to its idyllic surrounds, fantastic fishing, floating hotels, and array of water sports. It’s an inland beach playground that is perfect for washing away the dust from a long safari adventure.
