Late afternoon on the Chobe or the Zambezi, when elephant and buffalo come down to drink and a boat puts you closer than a vehicle ever could — at eye level, engine off, drifting. Also the best birding of any activity on a safari, and by some distance the most comfortable: no dust, no corrugated road, and a cold drink in hand as the light goes.
