Itineraries
Day 1
Arrival to Rwanda
Arrival at the capital of Rwanda – Kigali. After all airport formalities, our driver will meet you at the airport exit and whisk you to the lodge for a good rest.
Day 2
Volcanoes National park
The day will begin with a short city tour & lunch. Afterward, we'll take you to Volcanoes National Park, named after the chain of dormant volcanoes that make up the Virunga Mountains that divide the Congo, Uganda, and Rwanda. Home to endangered mountain gorillas and the Dian Fossey research base, this national park comes alive with the cries of over 200 species of colorful birds and the chatter of a rare golden monkey. A walk-through lush forest of bamboo, open meadows, swamps, and wasteland is sure to revitalize your soul and senses.
Day 3
Gorillas in the fog
This day will be remembered for a lifetime: we will take advantage of the only opportunity in our life to go to the rainforest in the mountains and spend some time with the famous “gorillas in the fog”.
After an early breakfast, we will be given a preliminary trekking briefing before being assigned to groups and walking in the woods. There is no guess as to how long or short our hike will be, as it depends on the gorillas and the weather, so you can stay in the park from one hour to six or more.
No matter how long the hike is, the reward at the end is the same: a magical hour of watching these magnificent animals as they relax, play, and eat in the heart of the jungle.
At the end of the hike, we will return to our lodge to pick up the luggage and proceed to the shores of beautiful Lake Kivu.
Day 4
Free leisure day
This is the day when we can relax, go for a boat trip or kayaking. Or just chill by the lake and admire the beauty of local nature. Great thing to do before departure.
