One hour with a habituated gorilla family, after a trek that can take twenty minutes or six hours depending on where the group has moved. Permits are strictly limited and issued per person per day — Rwanda and Uganda both cap numbers deliberately, and permits routinely sell out months ahead in peak season. The trek is genuinely steep and often wet. Minimum age is fifteen in both countries, and that is enforced.
