Itineraries
Day 1
Arrival to Windhoek
Welcome to Namibia! On arrival at Windhoek International Airport, a local representative will meet you for a Meet and Greet service. H will transfer you to Windhoek for your first night’s accommodation at the Am Weinberg Boutique Hotel, a famous landmark in the established and prestigious neighborhood of Klein Windhoek.
Pulsating with life, opportunity, and sparkle of adventure, Windhoek is a multicultural city characterized by tranquil coexistence and enough living space for all its citizens, which number 350’000. Visitors can enjoy the best of two worlds between European-style architecture and lifestyle, to the vivid beat of African culture and environs. The first recorded settlements were established because of the springs in the area.
Day 2 & 4
Sossusvlei
In the morning, we'll take you to Windhoek International Airport, where you'll be met by your pilot for the first leg of your journey to southern Namibia and the towering red dunes of Sossusvlei. Long before they descend towards the airstrip, will you marvel at the incredible sight of the red earth from the air? Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will be transferred to the lodge, where you will immediately be welcomed in the warm presence of the staff and become part of the surroundings. This afternoon, you will join the Lodge for a Sundowner Nature Drive.
The following day, entering the park requires an early start, and departure from the lodge will be well before sunrise. You will be able to climb some of the tallest dunes in the world, walk towards Deadvlei with its unique petrified trees, have the opportunity to climb Dune 45 and Big Daddy, and also visit the Sesriem Canyon. This afternoon, you may choose to again join the Lodge for a Sundowner Nature Drive.
On Day 4 you are booked on a Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Flight followed by a lovely champagne breakfast at the Landing site! Enjoy the landscape from the bird’s eye view up in the clouds. The remainder of the day you will have at leisure, or you have the option to join the lodge on their afternoon activities.
Day 5
Skeleton Coast
A transfer will take us back to the Airstrip this morning and will be followed by an air transfer northbound along the Skeleton Coast towards Mowe Bay – as soon as the morning fog lifted.
Here you will be met and collected for your road transfer to the incredible Shipwreck Lodge, located in the heart of the Skeleton Coast.
The on-site small local museum at Mowe Bay is crammed with facts about the area and a real recommendation is to step inside and watch a bit of a bygone era, still very much alive today.
Allow yourself to be pampered in this unique location. Enjoy an afternoon drive exploring the dunes and surreal landscapes and visit some shipwrecks in the immediate area such as the Suiderkruis and Karimona, learning about ghost waves – and real ghosts! You may even catch a glimpse of the desert elephant!
Then retire to your room after an exquisite meal, falling asleep to the sound of a lone jackal cry and the rolling fog that harbors secrets to the perished ships that lay strewn along the cold and dangerous Atlantic.
Day 6 & 7
Kunene River
After breakfast this morning, you will depart towards the remote north of Namibia, right on the banks of the Kunene River in Hartmann's Valley.
During your stay here at Serra Cafema, you will experience this unique and awe-inspiring part of the country in many varied ways. Already, the mere drive from the airstrip to the lodge will take your breath away. An absolute highlight of course is a visit to a Himba Community in the area, where you will learn more about these nomadic people and their lifestyle. A boat trip on the Kunene will bring you closer to the birdlife whilst keeping an eye on the massive crocodiles that laze on the banks of the river.
A Quad Biking excursion into the desert is an absolute must through the fragile environment, naturally conducted by expert guides on permitted pathways.
You will also have the opportunity to undertake nature drives in open vehicles to experience the Namib while joining a guided walk will give you some insight into extraordinary sights such as the fairy circles of the Hartmann’s Valley.
Day 8 & 10
Etosha National Park
After breakfast, you will be transferred back to the Airstrip, where you will meet up with your pilot for the flight to the Etosha National Park. Upon arrival, you will be in time for a late lunch, and the afternoon can be spent at leisure at the Lodge.
The next day you will spend enjoying the Etosha National Park on the scheduled game drive. In the mornings you will enter the Park in search of wildlife and call at the various waterholes.
Etosha National Park was proclaimed a game reserve on March 22, 1907, and spans an area of 22,270 square kilometers (8,600 sq mi). It gets its name from the large Etosha pan, which is almost entirely within the park. The park is home to hundreds of species of mammals, birds, and reptiles, including several threatened and endangered species such as the black rhinoceros. The park has three rest camps namely Okaukeujo, Namutoni, and Halali. Upon returning to the lodge, you will have some time to relax and freshen up before a scrumptious dinner will be served.
