Itineraries

Day 1

Maun (Okawango Delta)

Upon arrival in Maun, one of our guides will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to Crocodile Camp Safari & Spa, situated on the banks of the Thamalakane River. Here, you can admire fascinating wildlife, including crocodiles, hippos, and elephants.

This delta, located in north-west Botswana, consists of permanent marshlands and seasonally flooded plains. It is one of the few major interior delta systems that does not flow into a sea or ocean, with a wetland ecosystem that remains almost entirely intact. One unique feature of this site is that annual flooding from the Okavango River occurs during the dry season. As a result, native plants and animals have adapted their biological cycles to align with these seasonal rains and floods. This creates an extraordinary example of the interaction between climatic, hydrological, and biological processes.

The Okavango Delta is home to some of the world’s most endangered large mammals, including the cheetah, white rhinoceros, black rhinoceros, African wild dog, and lion.

Spend the rest of the day relaxing after your long flight.

Overnight: Crocodile Camp Safari & Spa or similar.
Meals Included: Breakfast.

Day 2

Your guide will pick you up from the lodge and take you to the embarkation point, where you'll board a mokoro, a traditional flat-bottomed boat of the delta. Enjoy a spectacular day exploring the canals of this unique and breathtaking ecosystem. Lunch will be served on one of the delta islands. During the excursion, you'll embark on a guided walking tour in search of the wildlife that inhabits this part of the delta. Return to the lodge around 5:00 PM.

Recommended Excursion (not included in the cost):
Experience a panoramic flight over the Okavango Delta. Transfer to the small Maun airport in time for a scenic piper flight. Departing at 4:00 PM, this 45-minute flight offers an unforgettable view of the delta during the golden hour, perfect for photography. After the flight, return to the lodge.

Overnight Stay: Crocodile Camp Safari & Spa or similar.
Meals Included: Breakfast

Day 3

Moremi

Breakfast and transfer to the tented camp in the Moremi area. Enjoy lunch before departing for your first exciting safari aboard a 4x4 vehicle with your driver/ranger. The return to the camp is scheduled for the late afternoon. Dinner at the camp. (Total distance traveled throughout the day: approximately 80 km).

Overnight Stay: Tented Camp
Included: All meals, game drives

Moremi is a private reserve within Chobe National Park, located at the gateway to the Okavango Delta. The Okavango Delta is the second largest inland river delta in the world, after the Niger Inland Delta, and represents one of the most unique ecosystems on the planet. It is formed by the Okavango River, which originates in Angola.

Covering an area of about 5,000 km², the ecosystem is diverse, ranging from mopane forests to acacia woodlands. 30% of the reserve is land, while 70% is within the Okavango Delta.

Moremi Wildlife: Moremi is home to nearly 500 bird species and a wide range of wildlife, including buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, jackal, zebra, gazelle, wild dog, and many more.

Day 4

Moremi

After breakfast, we depart for Moremi. While you're on safari, our staff will dismantle the camp and set it up in a new location in preparation for your arrival. Lunch will be served during the safari.

After the safari, return to the camp to freshen up before embarking on a night safari in the Khwai area, an ideal location for leopard sightings. Dinner will be served upon your return to camp.

Overnight Stay: Tented Camp
Included: All meals, game drives

Day 5

Moremi - Savuti

This day is dedicated to exploring Savuti. The vegetation between Moremi and Savuti is notably different, with Moremi featuring taller trees, while Savuti is more open savannah. Both areas are home to the Big 5. Lunch will be served during the transfer, and dinner will be enjoyed at the camp.

Overnight Stay: Tented Camp
Included: All meals, game drives

Savuti (also spelled Savute) borders the Okavango Delta to the west and Chobe National Park to the east. It is one of Africa’s most renowned big game areas. Savuti is a place of enchantment, offering breathtaking beauty and one of the greatest concentrations of animals in Southern Africa.

Savuti is famous for its mysterious and fascinating channel, which adds to the area's allure. It is also known for its predators, especially the resident lion and spotted hyena populations. The game-viewing here can be exceptional, and the variety of activities makes it a must-visit destination.

Linyanti, located in the same area, hosts large herds of buffalo, zebra, and elephant. As this area is a private game reserve, vehicle concentrations are low, providing one of the best wilderness experiences in Africa.

Day 6

Savuti - Chobe National Park

On the third day of your safari, you will journey to Chobe National Park. Along the way, you’ll experience the stunning variety and abundance of vegetation in the area, traveling through the scenic slopes bordering the Chobe River Valley. The sand road will lead you to the Chobe River, which serves as both a natural and political border between Botswana and Namibia. From here, you’ll have views across the river to the expansive Caprivi Strip in Namibia.

Enjoy a packed lunch during the transfer and return to the camp for dinner.

Overnight Stay: Tented Camp
Included: All meals, game drives

Chobe National Park takes its name from the Chobe River, which forms the border between Botswana and Namibia. Founded in 1967, the park spans an area of 10,689 km², roughly half the size of Lombardy. It is renowned for having the highest concentration of elephants on the African continent, making it a top destination for elephant viewing.

Day 7

The way of the elephants

Today, you will depart towards Kasane, marking your last night in the mobile tented camp. Kasane is a village located near the borders of Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Zambia.

In the afternoon, enjoy a cruise on the Chobe River, offering a unique perspective to observe wildlife from the water—a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you’ll cherish forever.

Overnight Stay: Kwalape Lodge or similar
Included: Breakfast

Day 8

Victoria Falls

At 7:00 AM, one of our drivers will pick you up from your lodge and take you on an exciting journey to Victoria Falls. You will cross the border into Zimbabwe, a unique experience in itself, made easier with the help of our local staff, as navigating African borders can be quite complex.

Once at the falls, you will have time to explore the area. You also have the option to participate in thrilling activities, such as helicopter flights over the falls or bungee jumping from the iconic railway bridge that connects Zimbabwe to Zambia. These activities offer unforgettable views and an adrenaline rush.
