Itineraries

Day 1

Flight from Zanzibar to Arusha

Flight from ZNZ to ARK 08:00–09:15 am.
Meet and greet at the airport, transfer to Africa Amini Masai lodge, where preparation & celebration will begin immediately after the couple's arrival.

According to Masai tradition, the day before the wedding the bride and groom must spend separately.

The bride will be escorted by Maasai women to the nearby village to her own Boma. There, they will teach the bride Maasai traditions and womanhood (Maasai Kitchen Party) to prepare her for the new role as a wife and mother.

The groom will spend his pre-wedding day with Maasai warrior men, who will also prepare him for the wedding. The groom must converse with an elder to learn wisdom about family life from him. After that, there will be a short ceremony until morning at the Maasai home. Then the groom will return to his house for some rest.

Day 2

Wedding ceremony

The wedding ceremony will begin at 6 a.m. The groom, accompanied by several Maasai, will go to the bride's house. This walk will last about an hour. During this time, the Maasai, who attend the groom, will sing songs, and other members of the community will greet the groom and join him. When the groom arrives at the bride's house, he will welcome her and give her a wedding gift. The Maasai will dance their traditional dance in honor of the bride and groom. This morning's ceremony will end with a small tea party.

Before becoming husband and wife, the bride and groom must be blessed by the elders of the Maasai community. After the blessing ritual, the groom calls his bride's name, showing respect for life. The woman is now considered the wife; everyone should call her by her first name only.

In the afternoon, the newlyweds have the next part of the ceremony. They must go to the spear-throwing competition and take part in the Maasai wedding dance at sunset.

At 7 p.m. there will be a bush barbecue dinner with the whole family and best friend, who will be from the Maasai tribe. The parents of the bride and groom are invited. The parents will warm the young family with Maasai blankets for good luck, and that will conclude the marriage ceremony.

Day 3

Safari in Tarangire National Park

After a leisurely breakfast, newlyweds will depart for their safari experience to Tarangire National Park—the land of elephants and baobabs. On the way to the park, guests will encounter many settlements of indigenous people and witness interesting episodes of African life.

Tarangire Park will not leave you indifferent. It is one of the most picturesque parks in Africa. The Tarangire River flows here, which attracts many animals.
