Itineraries
Day 1
Arrival in Uganda
Upon arrival to Uganda, our safari guide or representative at Entebbe International airport will meet you and transfer you to your accommodation in Entebbe. Your safari guide will brief your itinerary.
Day 2
Drive to Jinja. White water rafting
After breakfast, you will drive to the rafting agency offices for an initial briefing. You will be fitted out with life jackets and helmets before heading off downriver to the start point. Once down at the river’s edge, you will receive a detailed safety briefing and demonstration before launching into the river for some practical instruction. The rafting carries through meanders of the Nile through beautiful scenery and challenge points selected for an enthralling but safe adventure. The clients shall choose the intensity of rapids they would like to undertake. After this memorable experience, you will relax and check in at your accommodation.
Day 3
Drive to Kibale Forest National Park
You will set off to Kibale forest early morning, where you have a 98% guarantee of viewing the chimpanzees in the wild. This park also boasts the highest concentration of primates of any other park in the world. You will have a stopover at Kampala for lunch, thereafter proceed to the park for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4
Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Swamp Tour
After breakfast, we will transfer you to the Kanyanchu tourist center for a briefing before proceeding with chimpanzee tracking. Aside from the Chimpanzees, the incredibly diverse forest is home to over 13 species of primates, including the rare L’Hoest, red Colobus monkey, blue monkey, black-faced vervet monkeys, grey mangabey, pottos, baboons, and also bush babies. The Kibale forest has a network of shady plant trails that may please botanists and butterfly lovers. Bird lovers are in for a real treat: some 335 species have been recorded here, including the endemic peregrine thrush. We will transfer you to Bigodi wetlands in the afternoon for the swamp walk and birding experience. You may encounter different bird species, including the rare papyrus Gonolek that may be spotted.
Day 5
Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will depart Kibale Forest early in the morning and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The trip may take about 8 hours. Along the way, we will make several stops for you at different places so that you can have a snack. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park houses the largest population of the world’s remaining rare mountain Gorillas.
Day 6
Gorilla Tracking
After breakfast, you will set off to the park headquarters with your packed lunch. You will meet rangers who will divide you into different groups depending on which gorilla family you are to follow; you will then follow the Gorilla trails with your ranger and start the Gorilla tracking activity. During the gorilla tracking experience, you may encounter other primate species. After you meet the gorillas, you will have one hour with the gorillas for photos and videos. Dinner and overnight stay at a pre-booked lodge.
Day 7
Drive to Lake Mburo National Park and Sunset game drive
This day you will travel to Lake Mburo National Park, passing through the scenic Kigezi Highlands. You will have a stopover for lunch at Mbarara town; after that, proceed into the park for a sunset game drive. Lake Mburo national park is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks. It is underlain by ancient Precambrian metamorphic rocks, more than 500 million years old. It is home to 350 bird species, including zebra, impala, eland, buffalo, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hippo, hyena, topi, and reedbuck. Lake Mburo forms part of a 50 km-long wetland system linked by a swamp. Five of these lakes lie within the park’s borders. Once covered by open savannah, Lake Mburo National Park now contains much woodland as no elephants can tame the vegetation. Giraffes have been recently translocated into the park.
Day 8
orning Nature Walk. Drive to Entebbe and Departure
Early in the morning, you'll head to the park for a nature walk that will give you a chance to experience fresh breath, vegetation, ecosystem, and bird species. You will be in the company of guards and ranger guides for better sightings. Afterward, you will head back to the lodge to freshen up and have breakfast before returning to Entebbe Airport for your departure flight.
