Transfer Victoria Falls Airport to the hotel. 15:50-Pick up from your hotel for Sunset Cruise Zambezi River. A sunset cruise on the Zambezi is the only way to end the day in Victoria Falls. During your cruise, you'll enjoy the scenery and wildlife of the Zambezi, surrounded by luxury. Relax on one of our sofas or comfortable chairs while watching the sunset on one of the world's most beautiful and scenic rivers. You can often see hippos, elephants, and crocodiles on the river.. With a bar on each deck and attentive waiting staff, you will never have to wait for a drink. Our staff will also serve you a selection of delicious hor d’oeuvres throughout the cruise.
Breakfast. 07:20 Pick up from your hotel for the Chobe Day Trip. Chobe Day Trip starting from Victoria Falls. A Chobe day trip takes you into one of the most impressive National Parks in the world. Chobe National Park, only an hour from Victoria Falls and Livingston, offers a unique opportunity to view some of the best games in Africa. Home to the world’s largest elephant population, the park is known for its huge prides of lions and great herds of buffalo. You might also be lucky enough to see the elusive leopard. For birders, Chobe is a delight and is home to over 460 bird species. Interestingly, the Chobe River is one of the few rivers in the world that flows in two directions. In the dry season, the river flows east but in the rainy season, the Zambezi River pushes upstream to reverse the flow of the river west. The trip is divided into two parts: A morning boat cruise, with game viewing from the Chobe river, and an afternoon game drives through the national park. Each activity lasts for 3 hours, and in between, clients get a buffet lunch at a local hotel.

There is no better way to see the scale, magnificence, and beauty of Victoria Falls than from the air. A helicopter flight over the Falls is a rare opportunity to view one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. As well as the Falls, you get spectacular views of the Batoka Gorge, Victoria Falls Bridge, and the Zambezi River. We also fly over the Zambezi National Park, so you will have the opportunity to spot the game from the air. Our helicopters have specially developed bubble windows to give you the best view. We also don’t sell the middle seat, so all guests are guaranteed an uninterrupted view. Our helipad is only five minutes from town (the closest in Victoria Falls) and you can see the spray from the helipad. You’ll be over the Falls almost immediately after take-off. Boma dinner That is not just another ethnic restaurant but a unique cultural experience. Entertainment throughout your meal from traditional dancers, the Sangoma (storyteller), and a local fortune-teller accompany excellent cuisine, including a variety of game meats and traditional Zimbabwean dishes. The Boma is open for dinner from 7.00 pm until late, 365 days of the year. The Boma sits in Gusu Forest and is partly open to the spectacular African night skies. A feast of nightly entertainment incorporates Shangaan dancers and singers and a local fortune-teller. Guests are welcomed with a traditional greeting in Shona and Ndebele, the local languages. They are invited to take part in a hand-washing ceremony before sampling traditional beer and snacks, as a prelude to dinner. After dinner, guests are invited to spend an evening with Sangoma, a traditional storyteller, to learn more about the country's folklore, culture, and heritage.

How do the Victoria Falls and Chobe days connect?
Everything starts and ends at Victoria Falls. On day 1 you transfer from Victoria Falls Airport to your hotel, with a 15:50 pick-up for the Zambezi sunset cruise. On day 2 you are picked up at 07:20 for the Chobe day trip, as Chobe National Park is only an hour away. Day 3 stays at the falls, and on day 4 you transfer from your lodge to Victoria Falls Airport.
When is the best time for Victoria Falls and Chobe?
May to August score highest, with very full falls and clear views across the gorge, and dry-season game viewing getting into its stride at Chobe. July is the coolest month, with crisp mornings. March, April, September and October are alternatives: the falls ease from September, and in March and April heavy spray can veil the main curtain. November to February are hot and wet.
What does a typical day look like on this 4-day trip?
Day 2 is the Chobe day: a 07:20 pick-up, a morning boat cruise of about three hours, a buffet lunch at a local hotel and an afternoon game drive of about three hours. Day 3 starts with breakfast, a guided tour of the falls of about two and a half hours and the Flight of Angels helicopter flight, then dinner at the Boma, open from 7 pm.
What is flexible on the Victoria Falls and Chobe itinerary?
Mornings at Chobe can be cold in the dry months, so bring warm layers for the boat and the drive. The river cruise is more comfortable than the afternoon drive in the hottest weeks. The itinerary runs in a set order across four days, so the main choice is your travel month. Dates and flights are confirmed in your proposal.
Can you combine more than one country in a single trip?
Yes. Many of our journeys cross borders, for example Botswana with Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, or Cape Town with a safari and the Falls. Tell us the places you have in mind through the enquiry form and we will plan the route and transfers as one itinerary.
What meals are included on safari?
Meals depend on the camp or lodge and are set out in your itinerary. On safari they are usually taken at camp, with a picnic or packed meal on some days. Tell us about any dietary needs when you enquire.
Do I need vaccinations or medication before an African safari?
Health requirements depend on where you are travelling from and where you are going, and they change. Check your country's official travel health advice or TravelHealthPro (travelhealthpro.org.uk), and see a travel clinic well before you depart. Ask about malaria prevention early.
What should I pack for an African safari?
Lightweight, breathable clothing that covers your arms and legs helps against sun and insects, in neutral colours. Bring comfortable closed shoes (boots if you will walk), a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, binoculars and a camera with spare batteries and memory cards. Your itinerary lists any luggage limits for charter flights.
How do I stay safe on safari?
Your guides brief you on how to behave around wildlife. Follow their instructions, stay in the vehicle or camp area as told, and never approach or disturb animals. Conditions differ by country and change over time, so check your government's current travel advice before you book and again before you travel.

The Chobe day

Pick-up is at about 07:20. The day combines a three-hour river cruise, a buffet lunch at a local hotel and a three-hour game drive in the park. Carry your passport, wear neutral colours and bring a hat, sunscreen and a warm layer for the early boat.

Spray at the falls

In the high-water months the spray soaks you at the viewpoints and can veil the main curtain. Wear quick-drying clothes, carry a light rain jacket and keep phones and cameras in a dry bag. In the dry months the paths are clear and the gorge is easier to see.

Flight of Angels

The helicopter flight lasts 12 to 13 minutes over the falls, the Batoka Gorge, the bridge and Zambezi National Park. It depends on weather and weight, so wear light clothing and secure hats and loose items. The middle seat is not sold.

Sunset cruise and Boma dinner

Pick-up for the Zambezi sunset cruise is at about 15:50. There is a bar on each deck, canapés are served, and hippos, elephants and crocodiles are common on the river. The Boma serves dinner from 7 pm, with traditional dancers, a storyteller and game meats; tell us about any dietary needs.

Cameras

A zoom lens suits the Chobe riverbank and a wide-angle lens suits the falls. Keep a cloth and a dry bag handy for spray and the boat.

Tipping

Tipping is customary for guides, boat crew, drivers and restaurant staff. Your final documents include a general guide, and amounts are at your discretion.
