Amboseli, Lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara, returning to Nairobi.

Your guide-driver will meet you and head to Amboseli Park. It is a park where you can meet all the members of the Big Five and enjoy the best views of Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival at the lodge, you will have a little rest. Afterwards, your first game drive will begin. You will drive through the green grasslands of the park and take pictures of the many animals on your way. The most popular resident here is the African elephant. Try to catch the cherished shot and photograph the elephant walking in front of Kilimanjaro. In the evening, you will return to your lodge.  
Today you might meet Africa's most beautiful sunrise. You will wake up to the sounds of wildlife and go to see Kilimanjaro in the morning sun. You have a morning and evening safari scheduled for today. And in the afternoon you can relax by the pool with cocktails. Listen to light African music and melt into the atmosphere of "Hakuna Matata".
After breakfast the trip to Lake Nakuru National Park. On the way to the gates of Amboseli, you can still encounter some animals. Lake Nakuru is known for the large number of birds that live here, particularly pink flamingos. Filmmakers also loved this park, as many African wildlife stories have been filmed on this lake. Among the wildlife here are zebras, rhinos, lions, giraffes, and monkeys. After the game drive, you will go to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast in your lodge, you will leave Nakuru and head to Masai Mara. You will arrive at the lodge, and after resting, you will embark on a game drive. The Masai Mara is home to the Big Five: elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, and rhino. You should be lucky enough to meet each of them. The animal world of the Mara is so vivid that you can even see several kinds of animals at the same time. In addition, if you are here at the right time, our guide will take care that you can see the Wildebeest migration, which comes here from the Serengeti. In the evening in your lodge, with a glass of wine, you will flip through the photos taken during the day and realise how lucky you are to find yourself among all this beauty.
The time when the sun rises over the savannah is the best time for a safari. This is when the animals are most active. They won't hide from the sun, and you can even witness hunting. You'll go on a game drive before breakfast, later returning to the lodge for breakfast and rest. Several options will be available to you today. How would you like to spend your day? Before your evening safari in the Masai Mara, you can visit the Masai tribes. Learn more about their traditions, to visit a traditional hut, Manyatta. (Excursion extra charge). Spend lunchtime by the pool, enjoying a cocktail on a chaise lounge. Or you may enjoy animal watching so much that you want to dedicate your entire day to it. In that case, almost immediately after breakfast, you'll set off across the endless expanse of savannah to see as many exclusive moments of animal life as possible. And our team will take care that you have the most delicious lunch right in the bush.
After breakfast, our guide-driver will take you to Nairobi for your international flight if you are returning home, or for your domestic flight if you plan to extend your holiday on the coast. Or maybe you'd like to stay in Nairobi and explore the surrounding area. One thing is for sure. You absolutely will not want to leave this country!

How do we travel between Nairobi, Amboseli, Lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara?
The whole route is by road with a guide-driver. On day 1 you travel from Nairobi to Amboseli. Day 3 goes to Lake Nakuru National Park, with the chance to see animals on the way out of Amboseli. Day 4 continues to the Masai Mara, and on day 6 your guide-driver takes you to Nairobi for an international flight, or a domestic flight if you extend on the coast.
When is the best time for Amboseli, Nakuru and the Mara?
July to October score highest at all three, with dry, clear days. Kilimanjaro often shows at dawn in July, the herds arrive in the Mara in July, and August has the most reliable river crossings. January, February, June, November and December are alternatives. March to May are the long rains, with Kilimanjaro often in cloud, and April is the wettest month.
What does a typical day look like on this 6-day safari?
Day 2 in Amboseli is a morning and an evening safari, with the afternoon by the pool. On day 3 you game drive at Lake Nakuru and have dinner at your lodge. In the Mara, you game drive before breakfast, return for breakfast and rest, then choose between an evening safari or a full day in the bush with lunch served there.
Which parts of the 6-day itinerary are flexible?
On day 5 in the Mara you choose how to spend the day: a visit to a Maasai manyatta before the evening safari, which is an extra-charge excursion, lunch by the pool, or a full day of game viewing. On day 6 you can end in Nairobi, fly home or continue to the coast. Dates and lodges are confirmed in your proposal.
Can you combine more than one country in a single trip?
Yes. Many of our journeys cross borders, for example Botswana with Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, or Cape Town with a safari and the Falls. Tell us the places you have in mind through the enquiry form and we will plan the route and transfers as one itinerary.
What meals are included on safari?
Meals depend on the camp or lodge and are set out in your itinerary. On safari they are usually taken at camp, with a picnic or packed meal on some days. Tell us about any dietary needs when you enquire.
Do I need vaccinations or medication before an African safari?
Health requirements depend on where you are travelling from and where you are going, and they change. Check your country's official travel health advice or TravelHealthPro (travelhealthpro.org.uk), and see a travel clinic well before you depart. Ask about malaria prevention early.
What should I pack for an African safari?
Lightweight, breathable clothing that covers your arms and legs helps against sun and insects, in neutral colours. Bring comfortable closed shoes (boots if you will walk), a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, binoculars and a camera with spare batteries and memory cards. Your itinerary lists any luggage limits for charter flights.
How do I stay safe on safari?
Your guides brief you on how to behave around wildlife. Follow their instructions, stay in the vehicle or camp area as told, and never approach or disturb animals. Conditions differ by country and change over time, so check your government's current travel advice before you book and again before you travel.

Amboseli's elephants

Elephants walk in front of Kilimanjaro, and the mountain shows best at sunrise. Sit on the side of the vehicle with the view and keep the camera ready.

Lake Nakuru

The lake is known for its birds, particularly flamingos, and its zebras, rhinos and giraffes. Numbers of flamingos vary through the year.

A full day in the Mara

Day five offers a morning drive and a lazy lunch by the pool, or a full day in the field with a bush lunch. Decide with your guide the evening before.

Long transfers

Days three and four are long drives. Keep water, a layer and your camera in a daypack.

Dust and layers

Mornings are cool in the Mara and the plains are dusty. Bring a fleece, a hat and a dust cover for the camera.
